Nova Leap Health delivers record Q2 as revenue and profitability accelerate

Nova Leap Health Corp. reported its strongest quarter on record for the period ended June 30, 2026, as revenue, income from operating activities, and adjusted EBITDA all reached new highs. The North American home- and community-care provider also advanced its expansion strategy through a Nova Scotia acquisition and a new Massachusetts office.

Key takeaways

Nova Leap’s second-quarter results point to improving operating leverage and continued expansion across its U.S. and Canadian markets.

  • Revenue rose 17.1% year over year to $9.39 million.

  • Adjusted EBITDA increased 65.2% to $954,836.

  • Income from operating activities more than doubled to $754,667.

  • Net income reached $649,977, compared with a net loss of $484,008 a year earlier.

  • Trailing twelve-month revenue and adjusted EBITDA both reached company records.

For owners and operators of home care, home health, hospice, and related businesses, the results highlight the importance of monitoring margins, labor costs, acquisition performance, and cash availability together—not in isolation. Accurate bookkeeping and management reporting are essential to making those assessments.

Revenue growth supported by broader operations

Nova Leap generated second-quarter revenue of $9,393,302, compared with $8,021,072 in the same quarter of 2025. Revenue for the twelve months through June 30 reached $33,597,305, the highest in the company’s history.

The company said both its U.S. and Canadian operating segments contributed to the performance. Gross profit margin remained stable at 40.3%, slightly above the 40.2% reported a year earlier, suggesting that growth did not come at the expense of overall gross margin.

Profitability improved sharply

Adjusted EBITDA rose to $954,836 from $577,907, while the adjusted EBITDA margin exceeded 10% for the first time. Income from operating activities increased 115.4% year over year, reaching $754,667.

Nova Leap also moved from a second-quarter net loss to net income. The improvement reflects stronger operating results, although adjusted EBITDA is a non-IFRS measure and should be reviewed alongside the company’s financial statements. Soriaga and Associates recommends that smaller care providers reconcile operational metrics to formal financial reporting when evaluating profitability or planning expansion.

Acquisition and expansion plans

On May 1, Nova Leap acquired a Nova Scotia home care services company for total consideration of CAD$3.5 million. The transaction included CAD$3.2 million in cash at closing and a CAD$300,000 promissory note payable over three years.

The company also opened an office in Waltham, Massachusetts, to serve the Greater Boston market. Management said it continues to invest in Florida and Texas and has up to $3.05 million in available acquisition credit under its existing agreement.

These initiatives create additional reporting requirements, including purchase accounting, payroll integration, location-level budgeting, and cash-flow forecasting. Fractional CFO and consulting support can help growing providers assess whether new markets and acquisitions are producing the expected return.

Liquidity and leverage remain key considerations

Nova Leap reported $1.44 million in available cash at June 30, along with full access to an unused revolving credit facility of $1.06 million. Principal outstanding on demand loans and promissory notes totaled $3.53 million, representing a debt-to-trailing-twelve-month adjusted EBITDA ratio of 1.36 times.

Management said insider ownership stood at 42.58% and emphasized continued focus on operating discipline and growth. As Nova Leap expands, timely bookkeeping, tax preparation, payroll oversight, and financial forecasting will remain important tools for managing liquidity and supporting sustainable growth in the care sector.
